Double Jeopardy

Starting Wednesday, I'll be starting my new work to a new company. The same business processing outsourcing (BPO/Call Center) here in the Philippines. Originally, in the new company, I should start working for them on May 2, 2023. In that case, I filed my resignation to the old company until April 23rd. However, after a week, the new company mentioned that they're coming to move to May 23rd, so that's a month to go after my last day with old company. So, I decided to ask for an extension at least one week (April 30th) to be my last day in my old company. And another movement that makes confusing in both ends. Me, the old and new company. The new company offered me an additional of Php2,000 (US$35.78) in my allowance. In which, I have nothing to say but "YES, I'LL ACCEPT THAT!" but I need to start this coming April 26th. So, the problem is, I still need to report for work in my old company until April 30th. So, I talked both ends. The new company said, take it or leave it. Of course, I don't want to leave. I choose them because of the job offer, salary and other compensation is a great offer. In the old company, since I already made a decision, they're just requesting me to attend starting April 26th up to 30th, a one-hour duty before I'll go to the new company everyday. Just a sort reporting an attendance. A little sacrifice because I need to start at work in the old company at 3am-4am everyday. Take a nap rest for about an hour 4:00am-5:00am. Fast breakfast 5:00am-5:15am. Go to the new company (walking distance). Make sure that I'll be there before 6am. My job/training in that new company will be 6am up to 2pm everyday for the first week. I don't know my schedule yet on May. So, then, since, I'll start at 3am working with the old company, I need to travel from home starting 11pm on Tuesday to reach the vicinity at 12mn or 12:30am. I'll take a nap at 12:30am to 2:30am. Setting up my computer and other tools until 3:00am. Such a hectic schedule. Anyway, a sacrifice for common good for only one week. Just to make sure, I don't have a breach of contract with the old company. Of course, I don't want to lose the new company job offer that makes me tempting to be with them starting April 26th.

It doesn't sound fun for that one week but it does sound like you'll need to do it anyway. I hope everything goes well for you. Good luck!

@DaddyEvil I applied in this new company last March 21 and immediately got a job offer on the same day that's originally start at May 2. And history follows.
