Our Bull Terrier

There is a general understanding that Bull Terriers are violent and not many will keep them as pets.
We had a different experience Initially we did need to tame the guy a bit but later he was the most docile and loving pet we had. He and the cat got along as best of friends each caring for the other. The cat wanted him when she was delivering her babies and he would lick them when the babies were delivered.
In the photo you can see the cat kissing him.
Rana - that was his name - never ate on his own. We had so many dogs in our life but Rana wanted to be hand fed We all did it mainly our maid loved that chore.

We have never hand fed our cats nor any other dogs - we had several but Rana would not eat unless he was hand fed.

@allknowing - I am sure she would have eat if nobody would have hand fed her. Animals learn when it's matter of surviving.

He never attempted to eat on his own and waited for one of us to feed him I can understand how proud your kids must have felt

I only hand feed my pet if I am teaching him some commands but I like that they eat on their own when they want to eat

All our pets ate on their own but this guy was so loving that we enjoyed feeding him He was heavy and still would love to sit on laps.

I used to but my sister who belonged to the health allied professions said that it's dirty and we could contract conditions, especially eggs of intestinal parasites. She said the dog and cat clean their butt by licking them after defecation, and based on my observation, it was true. So since then, I stopped hand-feeding our dog and cat.

Nothing happened to any of us as hands are thoroughly washed after he was fed.

This pet was pampered by one and all and he was such a sweet guy. Considering he was a bull terrier everyone was shocked how docile he was.

When we got him we were not sure we would handle him having been told about this breed being ferocious but we were in for a happy surprise.
