Mango curry

This is one item that is made in every household around here during the mango season As you know mangoes grow in our compound and we have harvested a few. There are more on the tree. For a mango curry ordinary mangoes are used but since we have good quality mangoes we use them The mango skin is pulled out by hand and not pared off with a knife. Since there is no demand for pickle in our household I have not make pickle but we have had a good feed already of ripe mangoes, have made ice cream and today I will be making sweet mango curry. Mangoes are cooked in water to which chili and turmeric powder is added with salt to taste. Once the mangoes are cooked enough jaggery is added and the curry tempered with crackled mustard in oil. I have never tasted a mango curry. How does it taste? I want my mangoes sweet - curry or not.

The curry is made from sweet mangoes with a bit of spice added. Sweet and spicy is a nice taste.

Not keen on mango, but I like a good curry. I suspect UK curries are altered to suit our tastes, so you may not recognise them!

@LadyDuck Even I like to use cutlery but this mango is soft and whole. You have to hold it in your hand and enjoy it.
