Short story: The Law of Attraction

The spiritual master, Sri Turlon Madoski, was explaining the attraction of the Law of Attraction, to his students.
Here is what he said to them:
'"Like attracts like. Whatever the conscious mind thinks, and believes, the subconscious mind identically creates."'
"Bryan Adams, a Canadian singer said this."
"This quote about sums up how the Law of Attraction is meant to operate."
"On the other hand, though, for someone who operates instead from the higher consciousness of their heart, and soul, instead of the lower consciousness of their mind, this is just something to be acknowledged for what the mind can do, and then to leave it alone, and get back to being only a heart person, without the need ever to worry too much about how the conscious mind, and the subconscious mind, work at all."
"When we are heart people first, the mind, and the subconscious mind, fall into place behind our soul, and operate for us, rather than for themselves, which the Law of Attraction advocates one to do, for themselves."
"This Law should have been called the Law of Greed, for it is about fulfilling wants, desires, of the mind, thinking that the Universe can supply you with all of your wants, and desires, from your just thinking strong enough for this to come about, through your conscious influence on the world, backed up by your subconscious mind too, now working in unison with your conscious mind, not in opposition, which when they operate uncooperatively, or against each other, this is said to cause you all of your life problems."
"When we operate from our heart first though, and from our soul self, we are living in the service of God, and we do not need to worry about any needs, as God takes care of all of our needs, that we need to fulfil our mission for him here, in our spiritual journey."
"Love attracts others to you too, and this gives you a chance to spread the love, and the message of God then to them as well."
"It is not enough just to stare ahead to a possible future, by your imagining stuff to come to you."
"Live that future now, by living for God, a life of service to him, and walk the path, rather than just ruminate on the sides of it, doing nothing, but waiting for something to come to you, through conscious manipulation of the Universe, to your advantage."
"This is not required, as love, brings you whatever fruits you need to live from, when you are a soul person, not just a mind person."
"Worry less, love more, think less, love more, love more, then love even more."

These are beautiful phrases but for some, these are tall orders. I am Christian but I find it very tough to love my enemies. I know God commanded us to love everyone and I try to do this all the time but there are times that I failed.
"Worry less, love more, think less, love more, love more, then love even more," is a daily challenge that takes a lifetime to do.

Yes, that might be true, but if someone never came along to tell us the tall orders, we might all just stick with the smallest of orders instead.
We need to stretch to grow, and doing a bit more loving every day, builds on itself, so pretty soon, all we think about is being loving then, and nothing else besides.

Yes, most people might say that, but the Christian Bible tells us to love like this first.
Jesus replied, "This is the most important commandment: 'Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second commandment is this: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these."
From the Gospel of Mark, chapter 12, verses 29 to 31.
So, instead of loving ourselves first, we are to love God first, and then love our neighbour, as we love ourselves.
If we start with self-love, rather than God love first, we risk becoming overly self-loving, in a prideful, egotistical way.

I do not believe in the law of attraction but I do believe in the power of prayer and serving others in life.

@RebeccasFarm Yes, and if those feelings, thoughts, and emotions are powered by love, through prayerful connection to God, they will tend to serve us better then too.

I do not agree with its idea that we can use it to manifest stuff, or to attract stuff that we want towards us, from the Universe.
But, in its most simplest version, I do tend to agree with its premise.
For example, a man was walking towards a town, where he had never been before, and where he was thinking of moving to, to live, and he met another man coming from that town, and he asked him what type of people live in that town, that he was going to.
The man looked at him, and said,
"Well, what sort of people lived in the place where you are moving out from?"
The other man replied:
"They were all mean-spirited, unfriendly, miserly, and a nasty type of mix of people, and that is why I am leaving that town."
The man then said to him:
"Well, too bad, that is the same type of people that you will find in that new town too."
And this was true, this man did find this type of people in his new town too.
Now, a few weeks later, a second man was walking towards the same town, and he saw this same old wise man, resting on the side of the road too.
He asked him the same question, as the first man had done:
"What type of people live in the town that I am going to?"
The wise man also looked at him, in the same way, and said,
"Well, what sort of people lived in the place where you are moving out from?"
The other man replied:
"They were all kindly spirited, friendly, generous, helpful, and a very pleasant mix of people, and I am only leaving that town, because of my business commitments."
The wise man then said to him:
"Well, that's good, my friend, that is the same type of people that you will find in this new town too."
And this was true, this man also did find this type of people in his new town too.
So, if we hold a certain mindset about what people are like, and how we expect people to act towards us, and if we tend to be a standoffish type of person too, we will usually find that we "attract" these types of people towards us too, as like attracts like, is the general rule behind this idea, which oft times does seem to be generally true, I would say too.

When we live by love whatever happens in our lives proves worthy of our efforts.
In Hindu dharma, it is said - Do your duty and accept the results.
It is fair and square - the effort and the rewards.
We tend to live in regret for our past deeds and worry about the future thus allowing the present to slip away.
Living in the present moment is the best present we can give to others by way of service to humanity and in turn God.

Yes, if we try to live from love, we should have less regrets, as we have not so often been mean-spirited in our approach to life either.

@Shiva49 Humanity must travail in the right way to prevail and not fail.
Only love can show us how to live rightly, without making excesses of karma too.

@innertalks Yes, the world is lacking in love by all accounts and that means the light we shine is badly needed to show the true way of love and brotherhood. Then humanity will prevail.

Thanks, maybe he will write a sequel, miracles of your heart.
Yes, our mind, our heart, are both important in our lives, but love should be the driver behind both.
