Emotional blackmail

Have you ever experienced emotional blackmail? Something like, "If you don't permit me to go out with my friends, I will not study well," and similar cases. This has not happened to me, but I read and observed many such incidents happening around me. Sometimes, the person being blackmailed is not even aware that he/she is being emotionally blackmailed. What's your take on this?

No, I never had this kind of problems and never been like that with my parents.

ohh I see that as like a bad habit of a person who always do blackmail. I previously told those to my parents and regret it. so when I was like grade 8 I am on private school, and they want me to go in public school. I said if you transfer me in public school I will not study well. yet here am I enjoying it and regreting why I said it

I had a man in my life try to do that to me. I cut him out of my life very quickly. I will not put up with manipulation attempts.
