Who worries about health when it comes to street food? What is life when one never gets to eat street food? The joy of sitting by the beach and savouring bhel puri and later washing it down with tender coconut is a memory worth creating over and over again We have created those memories . Weekends were meant for that - a bus ride to the beach, taking strolls, singing and walking hand in hand and then squatting down there with bhel puri in hand Try making bhel puri at home and compare it It will never be the same What makes it so different. I do not have the answer Do you like street food?

Yes, I like street food and I tried in most countries I visited. The best, conch fritter sandwiches in the Bahamas.

@allknowing - It is also real food of that location. I remember the "bomboloni" sold on the Italian beaches when I was a kid. I buy here the Berliner (that are the same as the bomboloni), but I cannot find the same taste.

What exactly does bhel puri consist of? It has been a very long time since I have had street food. I admit, there are some cities in which I would not eat their street food considering the stories that have been told about how the vendors handle and cook the food. Not to mention the stories of rats making their way into their carts. For the most part though that doesn’t concern me, and I greatly enjoy the care the vendors put into their work, and the tasty food that results from it.

Sometimes, but not so much. Infected food can be a source of diseases. So, I watched first if the cook is cooking cleanly and if the food are covered. If not, then I don't buy.
