Some of you might know that I am a fan of hockey and try to watch as much as I can. Although my team the Chicago Blackhawks had yet another losing season, I try to keep up with the happenings of them and hockey in general. This time of the year is very exciting with the playoffs going on.
I have been watching and just cheering on whatever team I like over the teams I do not like, although I really don’t have much of a preference to who wins or not. The first round of games ended last night and round two will start tonight.
Sunday night was probably the most exciting of the games in the first round. The first game of the night was the Boston Bruins vs the Florida Panthers. The Bruins was the number one seed with a record setting regular season record and were expected to walk all over the Panthers. They were even up 3-1 in the 7-game series, yet the Panthers fought back and pushed it to a 7th game. The Panthers were able to hang on and put the game into overtime and came up with the win in a 4 to 3 win. I have no reason to like the Panthers, but I have always disliked the Bruins, so I was very happy about that outcome.
The second game of the night was the defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche vs the underdog Seattle Kraken. I have nothing for or against either team, but I thought I would cheer on the underdog Kraken. Though the Avalanche seemed to play a lot better it only matters who scores the most goals in the game. This was another game 7 and the Kraken were able to beat the defending champs 2 to 1 to move on to the 2nd round.
Round two starts tonight with the Florida Panthers @ Toronto Maple Leafs and the Seattle Kraken @ Dallas Stars. Although they are not expected to win, I would like to see the Panthers and the Kraken win again.
We will see how the games play out over the week.

The Bruins had to lose. Not just because so many dislike them, but because of the President’s Cup jinx!
