Desk Cleaning clutter

Trying to reorganize my desk layout. Bought budget friendly desk with monitor raise for my 2 monitors. Have another old desk to make an L-shaped like setup. But I have been hoarding paperwork and food on the other desk instead. Going to try reorganizing the desk in the morning so I can be more productive in my work, and I like to organize often lol. What are the best home office setup for some people?

My husband has one in one corner of our huge master bedroom. He has made it like a real office with few screens and all set up of printer etc. Mine is a simple table artistically kept in my balcony. One of my balcony is converted into a mini library and I work there. I like being close to Nature and I get a beautiful landscaping view from there. Organized space around you makes you more productive

@Fa_Maverick Mine is very small, but I am happy. It's a blessing in this city where real estate prices are sky rocketing. I would have loved a big library, but happy with what I have got

When I get my own place I hope to have a mini library too. Hearing about it seems so serene

@Fa_Maverick I would love my own library in my house, have a few bookcases, but would love to have a room full of books

I don’t have a home office of any sort, really, so I’m unfamiliar with the best way to set one up.

@AnneW21 Unfortunately, my apartment is too small for a dining table. I remember the days when I had one!

We have two home offices here, my wife's in what used to be the downstairs dining room and mine in what was our younger son's bedroom. Both boys are grown and out on their own now.

Everyone's ideal home office setup can vary based on personal preferences and work requirements. However, some common elements of an effective home office include a comfortable chair, adequate lighting, proper ventilation, and a clutter-free environment.

I tend to hoard paperwork and then it takes ages to sort out when it becomes a problem. I have been sorting through my cupboards and draws recently and I found paperwork going back over 20 years. It was interesting because doing this brought back lots of memories.

@AnneW21 We probably have some from that year and maybe even older. But this is my fault because I do not like to throw away cards from my family for sentimental reasons.

When we sorted out our loft during lock down we found christmas and birthday cards given to us over 25 years ago

@lazydaizee I did keep a few good cards and binned the rest, didn't really want to throw any of them away, but had to get rid of some for the space

I have no home office I do all my work from my bed. But to be fair I found so many desk setups too awkward and cramped on my bed I can spread everything out

I am not sure as I never had a home office but compact would be good for me. Good luck to you.

The best setup is according to the shape of the room where you work, where is the window, the lights the cabinets. Keep containers ready to put the papers that clutter your space.

It is always nice to work in a clutter-free desk. It makes work less stressful.
