Skincare for Men

Indonesia

I just read something on twitter, and there's a person that said "skincare is just for women". I kinda disagree tho. I think, skincare and facial treatments is universal. It can be for both women and men, not only just women. Last sunday I went to beauty clinic near my place to get my facial treatment. Most of the patients are women. But then, I found about 5 men that also got treatments there. I don't know which treatments they got since the clinic provides many treatments. I kinda salute to those those guys come to the beauty clinic. For me, it means that they care about their face skin's condition. Besides, if there are men who don't use skincare/do treatments, it's their choice. I don't wanna judge or comment anything. It's their choice. What do you think about this? Is skincare just only for women?

I think skincare for males is most especially important for guys in their teenage years, during puberty when hormones are messing with their skin, and often imposing acne. I honestly don't know a lot of men who use beauty products into adulthood. I certainly don't judge them for it though. I've certainly seen some men who could use a pore strip to remove their blackheads. Sorry, I'm thinking of a relative of mine.

@happylearner Yes, exactly. I have seen pictures of my dad as a teenager. The poor guy had obvious acne he needed help with, but of course they had no money for that, and they thought skincare was a girl thing. Which most people did back then.He is very blessed he didn't get acne scars. I know a very sweet and handsome man who has terrible acne scars. Even though he acts confident, he is very insecure about the scars.

Ah I agree. I have a friend that in his puberty due to his hormones he has many acnes, so that he needs skincare and even treatment to calm it down.

Skincare is for both men and women. Many men are now taking care of their skin, especially the younger generations. My favorite band. BTS, take care of their skin and it shows. There is nothing wrong with taking care of one's skin. This doesn't make men less masculine and more effeminate.

@happylearner Amazing! An ARMY in the wild. borahae! I can't wait for 2025 when the OT7 members get together again. That comeback would be explosive which the music industry has never witnessed before. Yes, our boys are not afraid to show their skincare. That shows they're confident of themselves. Just like Suga wearing a skirt.

Most men I know just don't care about how they look, or do they? Methinks some are just pretending not to care but they do. I mean my hubby is very vocal about it and we do night facial masks and scrub every now and then.

Of course not! Skincare is important to everyone regardless of gender. We all can benefit from taking care of our skin. That is why you'd see in the market, skincare products specifically made for men such as facial cleansers, aftershave lotions, moisturizers, sunscreens, acne products etc. Men also have skincare concerns unique to them like razor burns, ingrown hairs and acne. Establishing good skincare habits is for everyone, male, female alike.

Both men and women should take good care of their skin. I noted that there are more and more skin care products for men in the market.
