Hey! We we're gone most of the day. Which was mostly unintentional. We got up this morning and took she child to school. Then went to Lowes and got a toilet to replace the one in our bathroom that started leaking yesterday. After that my mother in law called and asked if we had had breakfast, we said no- so we went to Waffle House with her.
After that we came home and swapped out toilets and then went to see a friend of ours, ended hanging out with him till time to go get she child. On the way to the school we stopped at snack guy and I scored three 16 oz sodas for $0.50 each, a 8 count of Golden Graham snack bars for $1.75 (saw them later at Dollar General for $4!) and Fig Newtons for $0.50. We picked her up and then went back to said friends house so she could see the dog.
We hung out with him for a little while and let she child run and play with the dog. We partook in a marijuana with him and listened to him rant and complain about his wife. She's a piece....a piece of what is yet to be determined. But she took off about a month and a half ago, with their kid, and is now drinking and partying it up in Panama City beach and accusing him of cheating on her and all kinds of stuff, while hiding stuff from him. I hate to say it- but I don't think he marriage is going to work. She claims she wants to work on the marriage, but she refused to come back, or see him or do anything other than call and yell.
We left there about 45 minutes ago, went to Dollar General and got poptarts for she child for breakfast for tomorrow and a cold drink and some cash back so we could stop back by snack guy and grab stuff for dinner. Scored a two pound bag of breaded tilapia, a bottle of ketchup, three more 16 oz drinks for $7.00. So that was pretty awesome.
Stopped at Piggly Wiggly to grab garlic bread and a side. Let she child pick and she wanted Bob Evans cheddar broccoli. So that's what we got. Spent like $6.00 there.
So for $10.25 or so, we're getting fish, bread and a side. Not too bad if you ask me.
We're home for the night now. I need to go take my meds and then check on the fish.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
HOLY CRAP. I didn't realize I had entitled this a frugal food/whats for din post and then rambled on for twenty minutes. OOPS.
Oh well.

I did nowhere near that well.
We had a ton of running around to do today, so I dialed it in and said we're doing sloppy joes for dinner tonight. Safeway has ground beef for about $4/lb for the 93/7, and then I grabbed the Manwich sauce and onion buns from Walmart. Probably about $21 for everything, but I think I'll probably end up freezing half of the pack of beef so maybe $15 just for tonight's dinner. Should get enough extra for the kids to take for lunch tomorrow, though.

Haha - I think they call that 'getting sidetracked'.

I made another crockpot of infamous potato soup, which yielded five servings for the cost of four potatoes, a package of frozen chopped broccoli, and chicken broth. Froze four, ate one, complimented with some reduced-fat cheese and chili garlic rice. Oooh, was it good!
