Another Mother’s Day without You

A special poem I wrote to my mother, missing her as another Mother’s Day comes.
My dearest mom another Mother’s Day,
here on earth without you,
but I know that you are and forever will be by my side.
I’d rather think of the Mother’s Days we’ve had together,
the laughter that we shared -
from childhood up onwards.
Baby me in your lap,
sitting upon my favorite hill –
in Owl’s Head Park.
Still remember dad and I,
coming home with bouquets of flowers,
your laughing brown eyes and delightful smile,
your caring and love -
that forever shown through.
Making each day so much brighter,
just because you were there,
mom, I know that when I look toward the Heavens,
the brightest star I see is the one your swinging on.
I know that you still guide me
and someday we’ll meet again,
so thank you for all the years,
all the happy and glad times we shared,
love you mom always -
Happy Mother’s Day in the world beyond.
The photo is of my mother and me in one of the earliest moment in my life.

@RasmaSandra You look like a carefree moment of motherly love caught in a moment in time.

Thank you @KristenH I am glad that I had her until I became a grown-up for all those years since we lost my dad when I was ten. I know they are up above and together again and that makes me happy.
