Fiction Book : The Anomaly by Michael Rutger
Grand Central Publishing: publishing year 2018
Secrets, mysteries, conspiracies.
You might have seen movies or read books with the above ingredients.
Yet what if all of these are mixed up with a story of folks stuck in Deep and Dark caverns and fighting for their survival.
It's not exactly horror but well something that could make one feel creepy !
This is what this novel is all about.
Story plot in brief :
Ex scriptwriter turned rogue archaelogist Nolan Moore along with Film Maker Men and some more members who make videos on their findings on YouTube trace the steps of a 1909 explorer Kincaid to a deep cavern on The Grand Canyon.
They find out something hidden away from common knowledge and something unique, but get trapped.
The story is then about their survival in a deep cavern devoid of light, food and for most part water.
The intrigue, fear, claustrophobic feel all makes this story worth reading even though at some points it feels like everything is gone !!
Overall a unique thriller that would keep you rivetted except for some initial and end passages.
Perhaps suitable for a movie plot in the future!

Even I felt reading the description that it would be great for a movie plot
. I have started feeling claustrophobic these days even at the mention of the word or any description. It has started after I got stuck in the lift for a long time. I am scared of dark closed spaces.

The trapping inside dark spaces is a prominent happening in this story.
Reading all of it does makes one feel fearful.
But from a neutral perspective I would say it is well written and gripping and worth reading.

At times, even my reading tine is squeezed.
In fact I did not read any fiction book for almost 3 months.
But I resumed reading last month only.
The books help me to de-digitalize some times !

Often reading a lot digitally can be straining for both eyes and mind.
But well, that is more of the norm now in various fields.

The plot gradually builds up.
From a certain point it is always "What will happen next?
Will the characters survive in the deep claustrophobic cavern ..."

Is it because you are occupied with too many things?
Or bored with different book genres?

It's another kind of a thriller with some Indiana Jones and Dan Brown kind of feel too.

At times, it looked so dark and giving a kind of creepy feel but overall well written and gripping.
