Short story: John dies to his body/mind self, but finds still all of himself, complete still, in his soul

Our soul is our real self

John had just died, and he found himself in his soul, in some other world, somewhere. He started to have a look around where he was, and he wondered why there was nobody else seemingly there at all. Then, he realised that each soul must occupy its own space in its own universe, and to see other souls, we need to intersect with them, our world with theirs, and then we can meet them on the intersecting plateau, created by each soul, for them to interact with each other upon. We are all Gods then, so to speak, living as ourselves in a separate existence, as such, self-contained. It is God's love that connects one soul to the next, via their soul world, which in essence is a consciousness field that the soul lives within as the energy spark of love, of God, with this field, or space surrounding it, giving it its realness of substance. Most people might think that it is their mind and body which are thinking and feeling, but after we die, we see that these two functions, actually come from our soul. The like responses in the body/mind are stimulated by the incoming feelings, and thoughts, from the soul. Incoming thoughts and feelings can be distorted by our mind though, if we allow our ego self to rule us. Thus, in our soul alone, we can still think, and feel. After thinking, and feeling, comes decision; we will something to happen. Decisions can be made by our mind, or by our soul, but of course, they are far better made by our soul, working through our heart. After a time, in this new space, John found himself attached to another vehicle, or body/mind, with which he could work through as soul, in the inner worlds, which exist on different levels to our physical plane, but which our soul only works in, because of itself having its own space and existence, separately to the plane, where its body/mind is functioning too. One such plane is referred to as the Astral plane, where we often go, to have our nightly dreams in that plane, using our Astral body there, rather than our physical body, which lies asleep, inert, on our bed. "The great moral powers of the soul are faith, hope, and love." Ellen G. White, (1827 to 1915) an American writer said that. Of course, our soul holds our feeling, thinking, and being, power within it too. Our soul is our real self. Be your real self. Should I call the soul, the spirit too? It is what comes out of us when we die - the soul (spirit). I do believe too that the soul is what keeps us alive and yes, that which rules our hearts and minds.

@innertalks I see. My puny mind can't seem to digest all of this information. I will have to digest them first to be able to think clearly. Thanks for explaining patiently.

@Jenaisle lt wasn't a correction, it is just how l see it. The spirit is a power which our soul uses. God breathed his spirit into man and created a living soul, encased in the body, which he created for him too. The spark of God in us called our soul comes separately alive, as us, when enamoured into existence by God's spirit. Spirit to soul, is like breath to our body.

Yes, a part of every life form is eternal, as soul and spirit, and God's love, keeps everything going. If God withdrew his energy from the world, all would collapse in a heap. His presence keeps all going, even if we ignore his role in it all.

Our body is there for us to exist and survive in the present environment. In our dreams, we hardly feel its presence and it is then the soul connection that rules us. Likewise, our existence will continue with the soul taking care of the nitty-gritty. Even if what is meant for is like a turtle shell, we will get used to it. Let us nourish our souls and maintain the connection in fine fettle. Allow it to be the final arbiter as its connection is to the universal soul.

@Shiva49 Yes, to drift is to move away from our God-given talents, mission, and purpose, in our life. Love should power us in all of our decisions.

@innertalks Yes, we need inner knowing and staying connected with it. Otherwise, we will be rudderless and start drifting.

@innertalks If love is the key ingredient in our decision-making at all levels, our world will be truly heaven. However, we look askance at what is obvious and revel in self-created misery.

Thanks. I am glad you got something from my story, which was a bit complex, in parts.
