Baking rice bread

Japan

Hi everybody! With the raised prices for everything, it appears I have to pay over 100 JPY (think: about 1 USD) for a small loaf of gluten-free rice bread here in Japan. There are a lot of YouTube channels that show how to make it, but I don't have a regular oven and I suspect my convection toaster oven would not be good. Several channels demonstrate using their rice cooker to bake rice bread. I bake cakes in my rice cooker using gluten-free pancake mix. They turn out well, but that's not really the shape I want for sandwich bread. It appears that to bake good GF yeast bread, it starts out as a batter rather than a kneaded dough. Has anyone tried baking rice bread? I would like hints.

What about making it in the rice cooker, but placing the dough in a mold to shape it? I'm thinking specifically of how shokupan is formed, although I think those molds might be too large to work that way.

No, I’m sorry. The only non traditional bread I have ever made was cloud bread. I hope you are able to find someone who can aid you in your endeavor.

I haven't made the rice bread yet. Panasonic has a nice bread machine and it can make rice bread. It will work well. Of course you can use it to make any kinds of dough and then make certain kinds of bread by an oven.

You don`t want to buy a small oven? You only buy it one time and can save a lot in the future
