As the entire country of Bhutan is situated in the Himalayas, they have adopted process of cultivation in the sloping lands. Cultivation is done by cutting terraces. They are at the foothills and valleys. Although the land is not at level, still acres and acres of land are devoted for red rice plantation.

The use of terraced cultivation on sloping lands demonstrates their ingenuity and commitment to sustainably cultivating crops like red rice. It's impressive to witness their dedication to making the most of their natural resources.Terraced cultivation not only serves as an efficient farming method but also enhances the visual appeal of the landscape. The cascading layers of terraces create a picturesque scene, adding a touch of natural beauty and harmony to the area.

Good morning... I really like your shirt. I looked up terrace farming in the Philippines because some of the country people use it. I've only heard of red rice once before from a Filipino. That's interesting.

thanks DE for the compliment. The dress I wore is called a punjabi in bengali and kurta in hindi. Red rice is a very rich in minerals and carbohydrates. It is as tasty as white rice also.

@sathviksouvik You're very welcome. I don't know if I'd be able to eat red rice... I'd be willing to try it, though.
