Back to the traditional food of africa

May 23, 2023 8:20am CST
Today we decided to go back to the traditional way of living, in our lunch hour, we decided to prepare the common food tradition in our community. although I am in Kenya it is believed that the food is most common in Uganda the food is actually called "matoke" {cooked unripe bananas} The preparation is quite simple, just pealing the banana , boil it and add all your spices to the boiling bananas it tastes quite old but very nice, my family members enjoyed it

Sounds very interesting. I have had a dish called bananas foster. The bananas are cooked with brown sugar and butter, then used over ice cream. Very good sauce. Adding nuts is good too.

We all also cook a type of banana. We call it kardaba if I am not mistaken. Would you add a picture of the look of that banana that you cooked. By the way, I like the feel of your story. It reminds me of the life back in the country in our farm when I was young.

I haven't tried that yet, but I will someday. Enjoy your matoke. We do cook bananas here but the ripe ones, we add sugar and then fry them for desserts.
