Tough Week

United States

I don’t even know what to say. Mental episodes were bad this week. I was a “missing person” that police had to search for in the desert. Temperatures here are at 100 degrees. I had switched and my altars took over. I have altars who are 6 years old. They got lost out in the desert. When I came back to myself I was in the hospital. I was told I had been missing for 12 hours in the heat. The local police already know about me and my disorder, so they started looking for me immediately. I’m so grateful I did not die from dehydration. Now, I’m trying to concentrate on creating art and keeping my mind busy trying not to switch again. This is so frustrating though and living in a place surrounded by desert and living alone makes this disorder dangerous for me. I’m also extremely grateful for my handful of friends I have who are my neighbors and try to keep an eye out for me when they can.

Glad to know that you have friends who are your neighbor who keep eye on you. It's always frustrating to live alone. I cannot live alone, I will die if I have to do that.

It’s extremely difficult to live alone. It’s also the first time in my life I’ve lived alone.

I am so glad you were found in time to get help. I cannot imagine the frustration you are feeling, and I wish I had something helpful to say.

It’s ok Amber. Nothing can really be said. I give myself all the positive things anyone can say, but it won’t take away the frustration or depression that happens after an episode. I stayed in the hospital not only to treat my dehydration but also my depression. I was just being monitored to make sure I’ll be ok. I know I’ll be ok. I’m a tough cookie. But still human to be frustrated from the whole ordeal.

@MistyckMoon I know it won’t make you feel better right now, but I’ll continue praying for you. You’re a brave soul, and I admire you greatly.

Thank you Tiara. I’ve had friends tell me the same thing. They think it’s cool and fascinating. I get it. But this disorder also puts me in danger. That part really sucks.
