Where the two kids and I once lived, their was a large cedar tree in our front yard. The bows were so heavy, they almost touched the ground!
When the previous owners of that home were looking for property, that cedar tree was why they selected that specific lot to build on. It was absolutely beautiful!
My father had built our family home on the lot next door, a year before(1958).
That cedar tree eventually died of old age and had to be cut down. I'm not sure when that happened. It was a few years after we moved out, into another house in Tawas City.
Back to the original subject, I really love cedar trees:)

While we were living in that house, the children would play beneath that tree:) It could rain and they'd never get wet! lol

@AmbiePam The children usually stayed out in the front yard, I could see what was going on.

Do they give off the scent of cedar? When I was a kid in the woods behind our house there was an area we called "The Pines" where someone long ago planted acres of pine trees, standing in a row. Not sure why..but it was a fun place to walk around and explore. There was a fire in that area one time, but luckily "The Pines" did not burn down.

Yes, these trees have a strong scent of cedar:) People quite often plant a row of trees, to serve as a wind barrier. My father kept some tall trees, shade to keep the house cooler in the summer and to keep us warmer in the winter. My father had a fire once, a fairly small one.

I have many pleasant memories in my life. Instead of focusing on negative thoughts or bad incidents, I try to remember the good things, instead!

I absolutely love the scent of cedar. I am trying to think if I have ever seen a cedar tree. I checked on the net and there are cedar trees in Latvia so I must have come across at least one with all our walks and things,

They look magnificent and wonderful!
I too like them although these are mostly found in Himalayan states of Northern India, away from Plains.

They are beautiful indeed! I’d sort of like to have wooded property, but then windstorms and ticks and….nah, I’ll keep my subdivision .015 acre.

My mother likes cedar trees too. That is why she planted a few cedar trees on my property.
