Arts and Crafts Show in Tawas City

Memorial Day weekend is when our city plans an Arts and Crafts Show, at Tawas City Park. There's standing room only on the sidewalks, by ten o'clock in the morning.
This year, the city council decided to hire crossing guards, at two points on US-23. Crossing that major highway is very dangerous, for children and adults alike!
And it seems like people are a bit more careless, when they're away from their own familiar environment. Some tourists are on vacation, so they throw all caution to the wind
We usually have at least one accident each year, involving a pedestrian crossing this highway.
Last summer it was a young, female adult. Only one car was approaching and she jumped right out in front of it. She was thrown into the pavement and ended up with a broken leg. But thank God, she wasn't killed!
Anyway, I didn't go to the Arts and Crafts Show, I'm a person who doesn't enjoy being in a crowd

Gosh no, I didn't want to go to the Arts and Crafts Show. I don't enjoy things like that:(

@RebeccasFarm I have clinical depression and issues with anxiety. For this reason, crowds are a big 'no-no' for me. We go into restaurants each week, but use a booth in the corner. Jay gets up and socializes with strangers, while I just sit there and eat my dinner.

Sorry to hear for that freak accident about a female, young adult. Highway is too dangerous to cross for there's no pedestrian lane.

That girl didn't look left or right, she darted out into the path of that vehicle. There were no other people or vehicles, on the road at that time.

@kobesbuddy You'd be surprised how much they don't make. Most vendors take most of their wares home with them to take to the next event. I saw that happen at the winter market here. Lots of people came in and looked around at everything. Yes, they bought items, but it wasn't a lot.

We don't care for crowds anymore either. Loud noise and crowds are a no-no. Hopefully no one will get hurt this year.

I know what you mean about crowds. I’m staying home this weekend because “everybody” is out on a weekend jaunt. I’ll go on my “weekend jaunt” come Tuesday.

We enjoy the ships by the bay, when they arrive in Bay City. The only problem, the tickets are three times higher this year! We probably won't spend the money to go.

I totally relate to not enjoying crowded places! I prefer finding solace in quiet environments where I can embrace the soothing sounds of nature, like the gentle flow of water or the melodies of various birds.
