What Did She Mean? Wob Wumba Wawo?

My friend here just reminded me of a funny incident that occurred during my stay in the UK. So one time my mom left me at her friend's beauty parlor. There was this girl named Amber there whom I was asked to lend a helping hand. She was cleaning up and suddenly she said something I could not understand at all. She said, "Go get me a wuba wuba wowa" I was what?? I wondered if that was even English that she just spoke to me. I asked again and she repeated the same words to me. On the 4th time, I asked what she meant she called me stupid. I did feel stupid that time so I walk over my mom's friend and told her Amber needed a wobble. She looked at me and said, "WHAT" I felt like an idiot. I had to go back to Amber and ask again. It was super embarrassing but I had no choice. I asked Amber and she said the same thing to me. This time I had to level up my game. As I am very good at imitating, I went to the lady and told her in the same way Amber told me. "Amber asked if you can give her a Womb wom Wowa" It didn't make any sense to me but she understood what I said and handed me a WARM BOLW OF WATER" Did this ever happen to you? I am not making fun of them but I just don't understand many words. And there are many times I felt stupid and felt like I didn't know enough English when in reality I just didn't understand their accent.

I'm sorry she made you feel that way. I wouldn't have known what she wanted either.

@BabeSays Thank you. I've smiled my entire life. There is only one picture of me not smiling. For good reason. I wasn't happy about the spanking I got for cutting my bangs the day before Kindergarten pictures.

@just4him Awww What a lovely picture. Thank you so much for sharing. You look adorable Valerie. I can see a bit saddest in your eyes. And that dress looks so good on you. I wish kids would dress this way nowadays. I remember having a similar dress which was white and blue, I loved that dress because I had a matching hat.

No, thankfully, I've never had that happen to me. But I can see how it could happen.

Bless your heart! That was so not your fault. My dad comes from the country, and sometimes he has an accent. When we were children, my dad asked my sister about what she thought, was a "chair". Since we had company at the time, she went into the kitchen, and brought him a chair; thinking someone needed a place to sit. In reality, he had asked her to a " cheer" she had learned at school, and wanted her to do for the other guests.
