Signs Of The Times.

Read about a television personality who passed away recently. She was only 32, very beautiful and the mother of 3 young children. How did she die? - supposedly while undergoing a plastic surgery procedure. We will all age eventually, unless we prefer to die young. Ageing is a process which can start from varying ages dependent on one's genes ,lifestyle, or other reasons. The sad thing is that young lady who died looked perfect to me, but she obviously wanted more.. Thankfully l am not in a profession where l am constantly in the public eye, otherwise l might have panicked just a little when the first sign of ageing showed up. I noticed that my neck did not look as firm as it used to while everywhere else was... Where did you first notice the signs? - skin, neck, hands, hair...? Would you go under the knife to look younger or more beautiful?

It's sad what women will do to look younger. Do you remember Joan Rivers? She had so many plastic surgeries she looked hideous before she passed away. She was a beautiful woman before she decided she needed to enhance her looks. No, I would never undergo plastic surgery. It took this long for me to accept that I'm beautiful. When I look in the mirror now, I see a woman who has aged gracefully and looks beautiful. Gone are the days when looking at the picture behind the woman when I thought I was ugly and unloveable. Now, I see that picture and see how beautiful I was at 18, and how beautiful I am at 70. I'm almost that. I will be in July.

@Kandae11 I was told all my growing-up life I was ugly and stupid. It took a lot for me to turn that around and see myself as beautiful and smart.

Looking at that picture behind you , whatever made you think that you were ugly and unloveable? I see a beautiful young girl with a shy smile. And yes, you are ageing slowly and gracefully. I do remember Joan Rivers, she was having another surgery when she passed.

@Kandae11 Yes it seems so and then the person can't get their face back.

Plastic surgery - no way - I will try to age gracefully. I don't even color my hair . . . grays popped up maybe in my late 30s but now it is salt and pepper (maybe more salt ). It's not too bad in the skin department, but oh I can see I don't have the youthful plumpness as much as I used to .

I am not too bad in the skin department either. Fruits and drinking enough water helps.

Hair, I started to get grey hair when I was very young, but it looked done on purpose because I was and looked young. The neck is not as firm as it was but I cannot complain, I do not have many wrinkles, also my hands still look pretty good. I would say that I am lucky. I would never go under the knife, no way.

Many people begin greying from an early age, l don't know what is the reason for that. My mother began greying in her thirties and recently l noticed a few greys in my son's hair - he is in his thirties. I think l am doing okay so far - without the help of plastic surgery.

I think, no. I'll never change what God's already gave me. But, I'll of course take care of my body and face, such as using skincare, bodycare, hair care, etc.

My neck is not as firm. I do not mind aging. It's a natural process.

It is something we must accept. Of course we can slow the process in natural ways.....

@Kandae11 Yes, we can slow the process by exercising, have enough sleep and a healthy diet.

I have taken age in my stride and yes I do see those two lines on either side of my nose specially when I try to smile.

I would not. Of course, I am blessed, as I seem to get better looking each day. There is a beauty in the smoothness of the skin and the innocence in the eyes of a younger person. But there is also a beauty in the skin that shows work and they eyes that show compassion and wisdom in they eyes of an older person.

Well said, l agree certainly. It is also a fact that some men , and women too do look better as they age. However at some point that will change ....

Signs of aging comes with age. I don't have rinkles even at this age. I wouldn't go for a plastic surgery after crossing 60. At 30s I had a pretty tight skin.

It is usually the neck and the hands that give away our age. I'd rather just try my best to live healthy, age gracefully accept and be happy with myself. To go under the knife is so expensive not to mention risky and scary too.

Would you go under the knife to look younger or more beautiful? No. Not blowing my own trumpet but I do look good and am quite proud of that. I don't need to go under the knife. Who was this TV personality? Most of these people who undergo this kind of surgery are insecure about themselves and if someone says get this done and you will look and feel better they go and do it.

Yes, if my conscience allows me to. For beauty, no. Am not here to please nobody's eyes. Our minds store and use electricity. That amount controls each individual's capacity to consider. If that can get me satisfied, I say yes.

If I were in her position of fame and glory, I would consider it because, in the first place, it's the basis of their occupation. However, if she was confident in her skills as a TV personality, no matter how old she was, people would still watch her shows. It's a sad story.
