Our friend forgot to give us her new address!

My husband and I don't have a great many people we'd call genuine friends but those we do have are dotted around the world. One such friend is someone my husband has known for many years, and he sees her like a sister. For the purposes of this post, I'll call her Viv. Viv has a young daughter, who recently had a birthday. We don't always send things but we like to if we can and we remember! We did send a little something this time. I was concerned that I'd misjudged the post (we live in the UK and the parcel was going to Canada) so I sent a message to Viv to say that the gift might arrive a little later. After I'd bought, paid for, and arranged delivery of the parcel, my husband then informed me that he thought Viv had moved. He had not mentioned this before the items had been sent. Viv then sent a message apologising that she had not given us her new address! For most friends, it makes no difference if we have their address - because we never send things to them or those who live locally tend to meet up with us away from our homes). Of course, this one was a little more problematic! Viv's new address isn't far from her old address so I'm hoping the parcel will still get to her daughter. It will be a shame if it doesn't but it won't be a huge loss - Viv's daughter is old enough to understand, and she'll appreciate our efforts! It was a silly mistake to make, but I just didn't think to check that their address was the same - they must have moved within the last 6 months. Speaking of silly mistakes, I took off my glasses yesterday and couldn't find them when I went to get back to work. I looked all over for them... and found them about an hour later in my glasses case. I had no recollection of having put them there. I must get going as I need to get ready for a spa day with my sister and her sister-in-law. It's my big sister's birthday today. She's 49. I don't know what we'll have to do to top this year for her 50th next year. There are various things already being thought about, and our niece has suggested a bouncy castle OK, I really must go. I'll see you later. What silly things have you done lately?

Since the address is close to the old one, I hope the Post Office delivers it to the correct address. My daughter turns 49 this year. I hope she has a wonderful birthday. I'm always doing silly things.

It was silly of me to have been looking for my mobile phone when all along it was just at my back pocket. I got really nervous thinking I left it at the store where I bought dog food. I got to walk all the way there, only to find out on my way back home it was at my back pocket. It was never me to put my mobile phone at my back pocket so I just really wondered how it got there. Funny me.

A bouncy castle, I love it! Hopefully, Viv’s daughter gets her gift, although, like you said, she’ll understand.

I hope the package finds its way to the correct address. I often put things down and can't find them if I'm thinking about something else at the time. I hope you enjoy your spa day. Happy Birthday to your sister!

Sometimes happens, people forget to update their current address to their close friends.

Silly things would be to be me more lately. I just love cheering people and joking around. Maybe cause it to take away all my stress.
