When there is thunder and lightning / myLot

We have been experiencing thunder and lightning since morning and when this happens we put off our computer, tv and even do not use the mobile. A good part of my time is spent using these gadgets and suddenly without them time simply hangs. I did a bit of reading which is not my interest and clicked a few photos watching Beckie, Peppie and Sunny doing their acrobatics. When I have nothing to do I eat (lol) How do you spend your time when you cannot use your gadgets? Image credit:

I do not worry when there is a thunderstorm, I use my computer because it is power protected. If there is no electricity, if I can I go to work in the garden, if not I read.

I will never step out if there is thunder and lightning and about using the desk top I have read that it can damage it if it is on during thunder and lighting.

Every search tells me it is not safe. Here is what one search says "Unless you have very good surge protection equipment you should turn off and disconnect your Desktop PC from power, LAN and phone lines during a storm. Even with surge protectors it is still possible that your computer may be damaged."

@allknowing Correct "Unless you have very good surge protection equipment..." This is what we have. Also the whole house has a protection, no one turn off their computers and phones when we have thunderstorms here.

@allknowing Well it can be scary if I am outside with lightning around here but I stay in. It would be my son I would worry about with all the metal in his body. It attracts lightning.
