Win or loss.
Part of any game or sports.
Yet isn't there a difference in a good player or a team sweating and fighting it out and losing by a narrow margin after a tough fight; and the same team losing by a big margin; in an indisciplined manner and by a big margin.
India lost the World Test Championship (WTC) cricket finals to the Aussies.
Fair.
Yet margin : more than 200 runs.
Manner : Reckless shots, below par performances and a lack of showing courage and conviction.
Here is a debate where ex players Sunil Gavaskar and Harbhajan Singh talk about a lot of things:

Not keeping a track of cricket world lately. But I remember husband's ranting and being angry with the team for reckless playing. Definitely it upsets the viewers. It's fun to see a nail biting match where each team gives it's best. Even the losers are winners with their attitude and effort.

There were some selection decisions that were questioned.
Plus even the more renowned and experienced players did not play well in the match when needed.

Let's hope that team selections are more logical now with the new chairman as Ajit Agarkar.

Or may be BCCI should use its clout and money power and have the next WTC final(if India qualifies) on a flat wicket somewhere in India.
But what is the guarantee that still the Indian team would win.
Yes, there should be more gap between IPL and a WTC final.
Yet weren't Cameron Green, David Warner etc also playing in the same IPL?
Endless debate but well, there should be a change and first of all, for Indian cricket's sake, BCCI must appoint a chairman of selectors fast.

Perhaps more young folks can gel well as a team.
Plus India would benefit once Rishabh Pant is back in the scheme of things.

Yes this was an instance of a big margin defeat.
The fans are more angry because the Indian team had some very good players with terrific records but they did not try enough.

Injury is another valid reason but what about the so called Top players with big records and experience performing way below par?
What can be more frustrating?

The over-emphasis on IPL and the big money involved there did had an impact and looks like more on the Indian cricket.
As for the Aussies, it's over to the Ashes against England as of now.
