Chunnel Tunnel is an under water railway tunnel that connects England and France. Reading about it is so fascinating but for travelers it is just another train journey. I went by Euro Star from London to Brussels and the train took this route I have also travelled by Amtrak from San Jose to Santa Barbara but never felt any difference. What is fascinating is that the track is under water in the English Channel and this has cut travel time between London and Paris by two and a half hours. Marvel of technology never ends. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Eurostar_St_Pancras_1.JPG This Link has more

We preferred the Ferry, I cannot stand the idea to be under water in a tunnel. I suffer both of claustrophobia and aquaphobia, no luck.

When I went on the Channel Tunnel I kept thinking about all the water above the train, especially when we would have been about halfway across the channel where I was thinking that the water would have been at it`s deepest.. However the train journey was very comfortable and it is easy to forget about all the water above if you think about something else , or fall asleep perhaps.

That is what I said in my post. You just do not feel there is water above. It is just like any other train travel

@lazydaizee It is just like any other train travel. The water above is protected by that huge dome you see in the photo.

That train journey is just like any other although it is under the sea.

Wow, the wonders of modern technology. But I might feel claustrophobic. I would prefer traveling by boat or on the surface of the water instead of underwater.

I have been on the Channel Tunnel several years ago when it first opened. We travelled all the way from London to Paris. On the way to Paris there had been some problem with the train and somebody else got our seats, but the guard let us sit on makeshift seats in the section between carriages so we got there on the right day and time. On the way back, somebody accused me of pinching her seat, but she had got the wrong carriage.
