Good morning, Summer Solstice!

Today, June 21, marks the longest day and shortest night of the year in the Philippines. It is called summmer solstice. Earlier at around 6 am, my daughter woke up and came down to kiss me. Then she looked out the window and said "Oh, the sun seems to be too bright at this time."
After a breakfast of egg mayo sandwich, I cleared the kitchen sink of dirty dishes and came out to the front garden to do some weeding. I'd been itching to weed for the longest time but have been too busy with module work and other chores. The rainy season has commenced and these weeds would just multiply and grow thick if I don't tend to them. I cleared half of the narrow strip of garden in front. Oh boy, I thought my workout squats were easy, but squatting down to pull out weeds is a different thing. As soon as I filled up my bucket of weeds, I took off my gloves and approached the grandmas in our neighborhood for some chit-chat. One of them was weeding too. :o) It feels good to be gardening with your neighbors early in the morning.
Now I'm here at my work station for some myLot and module work and some K-drama watching in between. No major lunch preps necessary today 'cause I'm just going to reheat last night's pork sinigang.
Hope your Wednesday's going well.

Can't say I enjoy it as it's sunny here most of the time and we're used to it.

@almostoveryou I agree with you 100%, but I think I'm the rare American with my opinion.

You have a point. It might be a general term regardless of where you are in the world. It was so hot yesterday and there seemed to be this glowing red orange light surrounding the sun.

You must use a low stool while gadening but I can't even do that sitting that low is impossible for me.
June 21 was the longest for the whole world.

I would sometimes use a stool but I prefer to squat as it's a good way to exercise and is actually part of my workout routine for longevity.

Can you come and do some weeding in our flower garden? It's getting overrun with weeds!!! Our housekeeper will come on Monday and do some weeding.

If only I lived nearby, I'd be happy to take the invitation.
I used to really hate weeding. But now it somehow feels therapeutic to get rid of these unwanted weeds and see my garden looking neat and dandy.

Summer is so awful, I don't like the heat, but summer solstice is a great time for some people. Bending over and pulling weeds is a back breaker. Have a great day at work!

I don't like the heat anymore than you do. It's already the rainy season here and yet we're still experiencing hot sweltering days. I look forward to the colder season when the northeasterly winds would blow and give us some cold breeze.
Yes, indeed, pulling weeds is a back breaker. I hated doing it for years but now I seem to enjoy it.
