Day 347 (Jeremiah 4:1-2) “If you will return, O Israel,” says the LORD, “Return to Me; and if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, then you will not be moved. You will swear, ‘the LORD lives,’ in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; the nations will bless themselves in Him, and in Him, they will glory.” Have people pleaded with you to have common sense in what you do? Or do they wonder if reason has completely left you and you are without hope? God sent Jeremiah to prophesy to the people. He pleaded with His people to return to Him, to forsake their idols, and to worship Him so He could bless them, but they refused. They preferred their idols to the blessings God would give them. Many Christians act the same way. They prefer to do what they have always done with one exception; they call themselves Christians because they acknowledged Jesus as their Savior. Yet, they are hopeless. They might go to church, but their heart isn’t in the service. Their thoughts are on what they will do when the service is over instead of the message the minister gives them. True Christians know God’s blessing on their lives. They turned from their evil ways and walked in the hope of their salvation. No one needs to plead with them to return to God and Jesus their Savior. They rush to spend time with Him, not only when it’s time to go to church, but every day. Their thoughts are on what pleases God and not what they can do to lift themselves up. Which type of Christian are you? God says to you, return to Me so I can bless you. Let’s pray: Father, let Your blessing fall on me as I spend time in Your presence, not out of obligation, but out of joy, knowing how much You love me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I know several people that call themselves Christians (they are Catholic) but live a life of sin. They go to church and make like they are so devout. It's sickening! Have a great day.

I admit I'm not a devout and good Christian. I still have many things in my life that I have to improve on. I wish I could slowly do that with sincerity and faith. Thanks for the reminders.

Yes, we need to be deeper Christians, than just surface Christians, going to church only on a Sunday, and the rest of the week, living wantonly, and forgetfully, of God. A Christian is a Christian in their living 7 days a week, living for God, and from the love that God has placed within them, for them to live from, and to give out to others too.
