What do you think about teenagers using chat GPT to write essays?

June 26, 2023 2:22am CST
Chat GPT is a very popular platform. Many people use it for writing articles; some even use it to make presentations. Chat gpt is able to even program many teenagers nowadays. When they use chat gpt to write essays, they use other tools to rephrase them, and this way they get a good grade without putting in a lot of work. Do you think it's a bad or good thing?

I think it is making students lazy, and preventing them from learning.

For students I think it is not a good way to learn since it will make them lazy in any way. Although I also use GPT for research since it's way much faster to get information. I also tried having them code some in my Excel sheet. It is still not perfect since you still need to debug it since they can create codes that are not working or are buggy too.

Turnitin, a plagiarism checking software, has implemented means to detect AI generated content (like chatGPT). Many Universities across US has been using it. Hope these kind of students doesn't get away with it.

Shortcuts will never lead to success, I think they should learn to think and implement rather that just rely on technology

This does not sound like a good thing because it will make the students lazy.
