Virtual Bookshelf: The First Novel Ever Read

My grandmother used to buy picture books for me when I was still a kid. I didn't put much interest to it that time. My focus was more on the academic side than recreational. But it's unavoidable as time passed by. I eventually took some interest reading that kind of books and some of these books are still here with me. As for novels, I couldn't exactly remember the first novel I ever read but I remember reading one because it's a school requirement. We were required to write a reaction paper out of that novel so there's no option to skip doing it. Back then there's little to no access of online books so hardcopies were the only option we've got. I'm still not a constant reader after that. I'm not really into novels especially if it's a thick one. Well of course, unless it's mandatory. College came, I was skipping classes and eventually got hooked to the internet hustling some small writing jobs. I'm sure I've read a couple more novels but again, I couldn't remember the first of the many firsts that I've read. How about you, do you remember the first novel you ever read? If so, what was it?
