...but, I can hear them starting to light stuff off. Good evening. With this being Saturday and the first, people are celebrating. Nothing too serious, just the usual, but you can barely hear anything in the bedroom. Chilly doesn't seem bothered, but we'll leave the bedroom open if he decides to hide under the covers on the forth, itself. People will be much louder, but thankfully, he shouldn't hear the large ones that go off. I think we live to far for that because they shouldn't be shooting them off at the track. I'm not bothered by them, myself, personally finding them a joy. However, I understand some people and animals hate the noise.

The thing I like is they stopped relatively early last night. They weren't still going at 3 AM.

Even I find that annoying. A perk of being on beach I won't be dealing with that. And, actually get a good night's sleep.

Fireworks in my neighborhood are rather quiet since downtown Lake Charles is a few miles away from my present location which is a quiet area.

@kaylachan I like this neighborhood since the houses are set apart and are one family houses.

It’s great that both you and Chilly don’t mind them since so many do.

Can't tell how he'll behave since he'll be all alone this year.

@kaylachan Oh that would be rare here. Will they have a big show on the beach there?

There were a few fireworks in the area and we could see them from our front porch.

They set off a lot last night for several hours; and it was a lot of big booms. Probably mortars. Very loud. Enjoy your day!

Yeah, my pets and I don't like those loud booms. The sad part is that I know some veterans who're shell shocked and it scares the bageezas outta them.

Then they need to learn to cope with it. I feel for vets, believe me (my husband is one), but other people do need to live their lives.

My two cats do not like the noise that fireworks make.

I'm sure they have their hiding spots.
