Got Pushed by an Ornery, Old Man

When I'm out in public, I try to remain as respectful as possible. At times, I'm not in a good mood, but strive to never vent those feeling, on other people. I'm not more important than anyone else.
I was standing behind a young man, who was promptly being taken care of by a woman at the cash register. I waited my turn, which didn't take long.
All I wanted was a cup of coffee, to go. There was an older man who approached the register and pushed a styrofoam box of takeout food in front of me. He acted like I was invisible!
Well, Kharla could have let this person throw his weight around, but I didn't. Instead, I took a big step forward, between me and the lady in charge. Man, did this ever feel great!
She glanced at him with disgust, then politely took my order. He never said a word or budged a muscle. This pushy man basically, waited his turn!

Some people these days are too selfish to give attention to manners. They want their work to be done before their turn comes just as that old man did. The same thing happened to me at a bank.

And men are supposed to show common curtesy, to a woman. Many don't!

I hate pushy people. A lot of times it's an older person. Gives old people a bad name! Enjoy your day.

At the assisted living home, we had residents who were very kind , others were very nasty. The kind ones had plenty of visitors, while the nasty ones didn't. This speaks louder than words!

Things like that bug the heck out of me. I am certain I would have said "I was here first." SOmetimes, when they open a new register at a store, people who were behind me in line get there first, but I never say anything. It is the way the game is played I guess.

Good for you. Some people have no respect for others.
