A Genius Who Jumped off a Barn Roof

My father was a bright man, an inventor who was considered to be brilliant. Am I bragging about my Dad? Please, read the rest of my discussion and then, YOU can decide for yourself.
As a young boy, my father was always inventing something in his spare time. One time, Dad built himself two wings out of some old boards. Then, he securely tied them to both arms.
What did he do next? Dad climbed up a tall ladder onto the barn roof and jumped off!
His father came running, when he realize what Russell had done (a bit too late).
His son stood up, attempting to get his bearings back and replied, "I half near broke my neck!"
As I told you earlier, some people considered my Dad a genius

His father was very proud of Russell and Dad was told, he was born way before his time!

@RebeccasFarm He must have had angels floating him softly to the ground.

Well, I must say he had a very vivid imagination. I am glad he survived that jump. It also shows a lot of bravery,

Dad wasn't afraid, until he hit the ground:) Lucky for him, his dad had straw next to the barn.

You know what they say "There is a thin line, between genius and madness." I think the recent Titanic submersible debacle proved that one!

Yes, you hit the target right on the 'Bullseye!' They invented something miraculous, that cost those trusting victims their life

Oh my goodness! I hope he wasn't hurt. My husband had the wise idea to jump off the garage roof. He's lucky he didn't break something. What else did your father invent? Enjoy your day.

His dad must have worried, and have been proud at the same time.
