My mother's FB account get hack yesterday. I'm not sure what is the mistake made by my mom for that to happen.
It contacted different people or friends of my mother and ask them for money through GCash.
One of our relatives is really annoying because she didn't double check if it is really my mom asking for money. She give 3,600 to the hacker with an unfamiliar GCash account.
Now we will have to pay that relatives for the money she send to the hacker

Oh! That sounds terrible. And now you have the obligations to pay your relative back . You don't need to make a mistake to be hacked. Hackers can get into any account. My FB account has been hacked in the past.

I see that is good to know. She really felt bad for doing a mistake which is not her fault

@averygirl72 I hope that she takes few precautions in the future for it to not let happen again.. it's not possible to make a zero chance but definitely we can reduce the chances of being hacked.

Oh no, that is really bad if her account was hacked my father has the same experience. We noticed that he has exactly a duplicate account with all his pictures uploaded to that account. He also started to invite his friend to connect with that false account. What I did was report them to FB that he is imitating my father's account and I believe they remove that account already.

@averygirl72 I see yesterday I got an email that there is an attempt to change my password but I did request my password to be changed. I checked my account and it still is okay for now.

@averygirl72 I am almost sure she faked everything to have money. Did you ask her to prove that she received the request and tried to contact you?

It's the hacker's fault. Sorry that it happened. I remembered somebody messaged my mother before borrowing money. My mother was suspicious because that person doesn't usually do that, so she called him. He did not answer the call, but later it was confirmed that it's really the person borrowing. When it comes to money and personal details, I am doubtful to provide information except for online shopping transactions which is required. After your mother's incident, I know something good will happen :).

It's good to know my youngest sister discovered it because if not the hacker may have called so many contacts and ask for money and we are going to pay them all
