I didn't go into Neiman's Grocery Store to buy a melon. When I saw them in a bin and the price on the sign, that's when I decided to purchase a muskmelon. It looks ripe enough to cut.
Fresh produce is always a treat, at any time of the year.
I even feel healthier, with the windows open, fresh air blowing in and all these healthy foods to consume.
Neiman's is a wonderful local grocery store, that always keeps stocked up on fresh produce. Their prices are a bit higher, but it's well worth the money

Muskmelon looks like a cantaloupe. I am not a fan of any type of melon. We have a local produce store which gets a lot of its produce from local farmers. I go there to get most of our produce/fruits. Sometimes a little higher but like you said, well worth the money.

We have a watermelon in the fridge that no one is eating. We need to cut into it soon. Enjoy your melon and your day.

I've never heard of a muskmelon but it looks very like what we call a rockmelon. There is also a honeydew melon that looks similar.
