This is a dish from Bengal that doesn't need the expensive tomatoes which we can make during the rainy season. It's the snake gourd curry cooked with a paste of coconut, poppy seeds, ginger and green chilly. In the rainy season snake gourd is easily available in Bengal and in Odisha and it isn't costly too. We Bengalis usually use mustard oil to cook this dish and use mustard seeds to for garnishing. As we use coconut paste we use a little bit of sugar along with salt which makes the curry tasty. Snake gourd was my husband's favorite vegetable. Do you grow snake gourd in your country?

Hope you enjoyed. I do not care for curry, much too spicy for me. Never heard of snake gourd. Have a good evening.

It might not be growing in your country as it grows well in tropical countries, especially during the rainy season.
