Ceremonies Postponed due to Heavy Rains

Because of heavy rains this morning, our Graduation ceremony for SHS was cancelled. Everything was all set. Graduates with their parents were already settled in every classroom waiting for the processional and all the faculty including the administration were all properly dressed for the occasion. Remember that in my last post, I already shared that the general rehearsal was cancelled because of heavy rains. We were supposed to have the Graduation ceremony at 6 in the morning while the Completion Ceremony for the Junior High School would be at 4 in the afternoon. The weather was so unkind that rains kept pouring so the administration decided to postpone both events next week. We were all frustrated because all efforts and money were wasted. We planned to have those events in a different place and this time we settled for a covered place. This is something beyond our control. Photo from online images

I'm sorry that happened. But it's also the rainy season there, so everybody should have known it could happen. I'm glad administration set the events in a covered structure next week. I hope everything goes well on the second attempt.

It surely will push through rain or shine. But then its going to be tiring for the organizers and the administration.

One thing you can count on is that you can't count on the weather to cooperate with your plans.

That is correct. We just couldn't find a big covered place since we have more than a thousand graduates and completers

@cherigucchi I'm sorry it's so hard finding a place large enough for the graduates.

@just4him That is true. We can only settled to a smaller place but we need to have schedule the event 4 times.

I understand how frustrating that must be. That’s why I would never have an outdoor wedding, because the weather is so unpredictable. However, I understand sometimes things can’t be helped, and a graduation might have to be held outside because of space issues. I am sorry, though, that it had to be canceled.

No worries. This is something beyond our control. It is just good that the Principal did not cancel at all and just postponed it. He knows that this is a special event for both students and their parents.

Oh no! I know it takes so much time, effort, and coordination to set up for the big graduation day - for all involved. Hopefully the weather is kinder next week . . . graduation will spectacular no matter what.

Thanks. This will push through rain or shine because we will be having it in a covered place.
