Cats are strange creatures

She came in about teatime and settled down in front of my bedroom window for a nice long sleep. That bit's understandable, I like a nice nap myself. But it's now a quarter to midnight, and a few minutes ago it started raining heavily. So what does she do? She stirs herself and starts meowing to be let out. I opened the door for her, and without hesitation she ran up the garden path and is now sheltering under my car instead of spending a comfortable night in my house. What sense does that make? If we can't understand the behaviour of a fellow mammal from the same planet, I wonder how we'll get on if we ever meet aliens.

Cats certainly have minds of their own. Perhaps she enjoyed hearing the rain and smelling that nice scent when it rains,

She is probably hot and the rain is cooling for her. My cat will go on the balcony when it's raining to cool down. So do I.
