QR Code - quick response code

Started by a Japanese company Denso Wave in the year 1994 to label their automobile parts the QR code is now seen everywhere. I even saw one on the arms of a wrestler It stores a lot of data. Anyone can create QR codes including you. Today morning I was opening a new bottle of the dark chocolate peanut butter and there on the flap inside I saw the QR Code. I had to slit it in order to open the bottle fully but I do not know what the purpose of that QR code placed there was for. The QR code is here to stay and unless one owns a smart phone it cannot be decoded. I do not have a smart phone and so I depend on others should I feel the need to decode a QR code that I come across. How often do you need to decode a QR Code in your day to day life and where do you have to do it?

I’ve never needed to. I’m not even sure what they are.

We see it at every nook and corner and good to know you have not felt the need to decode any . Hope it stays that way.

Coming out of the pandemic, my friend and I went to our usual lunch meeting spot, and instead of traditional menus, they offered QR codes on a piece of paper to see the menu. We both have smartphones, but we didn’t want to mess with it so we just asked for a regular menu. I don’t bother with QR codes at all.

@allknowing By messing with it, I just mean by simply getting our phones out, and using them to look at the QR code; not the QR codes themselves. The menus were sitting right in front of us, so why dig in my purse when they could hand me a menu? Neither take very long, but looking at the actual menu was easier.

What messing would you have expected if you decoded it? I had a tough time to get my crypto deposits I had made at a Site. I took the help of my nephew to reach out and that I did after almost a year and by then the value of the crypto had reduced to 33 percent. Lost a few rupees.
