Got a few stuff from the convenience store

The rains finally took a few hours of break this afternoon (thank God!) so I thought to walk to the nearest convenience store to get some food. We're running low on supply and I've got to feed a household of 7 for the next 24 hours. I'm not keen on having groceries delivered because of the hefty delivery fee + service fee. The convenience store is just two blocks away and I get to use my membership card for some points. So walk I did... an empty eco bag in hand.
The little boy (Alfie's son) gets super excited over the heavy breakfast meals that he gets here so I got some beef franks, a pack of rice grains, and a huge loaf of bread. I also got some frozen pork chops and beef tapa.
We're having leftovers for dinner tonight. There's still some chicken sopas (pasta soup) left in the pot, a bit of Alfie's chicken adobo, and the sauteed veggies that I cooked last night. I'm too full to even think about dinner though. Maybe I'll just have a sandwich or something.
Weather has cleared up a bit as I write this. (It's 5:01 pm) But we're expecting more rains in the next few days due to enhanced southwest monsoon and a low pressure area that's likely to develop into a tropical cyclone. 'Tis the season after all!

It's better to look at the best available option and glad you did that. I normally shop online and in case I am short of something then I buy from a by nearby store

Yup, we choose the convenient route. I'm glad we have a lot of shops within the neighborhood. I don't always have to drive just to get provisions, especially on a rainy day like this.

Pretty and I picked up more groceries today, even though it's not our "normal" shopping day. She wanted more ice cream and I wanted some breakfast sandwiches I didn't have to cook to put together.
I hope you'll have more rain-free time so Alfie's son can enjoy the park near your house.

I miss those breakfast sandwiches from 7-11. I'll have to walk about a mile to get one of those. Maybe next time when the weather is fine.
Mom and son had a walk this morning. They will go home to their family later this afternoon. The boy doesn't want to go home yet because he loves the food here and he seems to be obsessed with our toilet flush.

@almostoveryou I bought a large box of the sandwiches for breakfast. (8 in the box.) We buy the box in the local grocery store.
Does your water bill go up when they stay with you?

@DaddyEvil
Yes, the water bill goes up every time! The boy is also having fun with the shower and the running water in the bathroom. He would wash his hands using the liquid soap every hour or so (apart from flushing the toilet) and then use the tissue to dry his hands. I was amazed at how he almost finished the soap and the tissue in one day.
