An Upland California resident contacted the San Bernandino California firefighters to report that a mom racoon and her four babies were in their chimney on Thursday July 6.
The team up of the firefighters and animal control officers went to the chimney of the resident who reported the incident of the raccoons in the chimney.
Both the animal control officer and firefighters were able to rescue the four young raccoons in the chimney in a span of two hours safely.
The mom raccoon did leave the home without her children since the four baby raccoons were taken to a wildlife rescue facility to be examined by a veterinarian.
The whereabouts of the mom raccoon is not known. The baby raccoons will be in the rescue facility until they are old enough to be on their own.
Four out of five ain't bad in the rescue business these days.

That is likely what happened to the mom raccoon who fled from the animal control officers and firefighters.

The four raccoons will enjoy their time at the wildlife center indeed.

I am in agreement with you I would think that a mom raccoon would want to be with her children.
