I Need to Read the Ingredients in Foods I Purchase

One of my favorite condiments is catsup. I use it almost every day, because I really love it. So whatever ingredients are added in catsup, is important to me. We switched brand of catsup, because the GV was cheaper. Well, I had a bad reaction when I used this catsup on foods. Jay had glanced at the ingredients, but didn't think anything would be harmful. I read all the ingredients, to find out what the offending item was, that caused a problem. The last ingredient was Natural Flavors. Hmmm, this didn't really tell me exactly what they had added into this condiment. So, I looked it up on Google, to find out what these Natural Flavors really are. Yikes! Come to find out, this is referring to MSG! And MSG is a relatively harmful flavor enhancer, that I'm allergic to!

I try to use simple foods that I mix. But in the case of ketchup we have to buy it. Then I check. And when I find the brand I like, I stick to it. MSG has to be used in small amounts, even if you are not allergic to it.

I get sick from consuming foods with MSG. Terrible cramping in my abdomen and uncontrollable diarrhea. In Europe, its use was outlawed.

Wow yeah, corporate America all in on this organic and natural crap that is not true. It sells these days and why they do it hoping people never read. Organic and natural crap is expensive and why they so shady. Most people it will not harm other than it just naturally not good for you but if allergic those people find out real quick. Thanks miss lady you let us all know. Also never trust those labels too, Its like the BBB, corporations pay those companies to look good. It pretty much defeats the purpose but no one ever said capitalism is logical.

Ugh. We get migraine-like headaches with MSG - so we try to avoid it all we can. But the dumb thing is MSG has like 50 other names . . . how dare they try to fool us .

I don’t use ketchup or condiments. I cook veggies and some fruits. Garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, Turkic,paprika and cinnamon are the seasonings I use. Love your picture.

The problem with ketchup is it just has so much sugar in it. I am sure the no sugar variety is just as good, but I haven't bought it.

Labels can be a bit misleading sometimes. The manufacturers are very clever at disguising the 'real' ingredients sometimes.

Yes, this is true. One store bragged about sugar-free cakes. Diabetics thought they could eat them! Instead, the cakes were made with corn syrup, which is dangerous for diabetics
