New Chickens

We finally decided to start raising chickens again. We are keeping the numbers small this time. We only have hens and will use them for eggs. I have named them all after our nation's founding women- women that I admire for their morals and conservative values, women whose bravery, during the founding of our nation, is to be honored. Yes, I am a history buff. And I love my country. So I may be a little excessive when revering it. Our chickens are named Abigail (after Abigail Adams), Mercy (after Mercy Otis Warren), Wheatly (after Phylis Wheatly), Betsy (after Betsy Ross), Dolly (after Dolly Madison) and Sybil (after Sybil Ludington). Anyone else crazy about history?

That’s so cool! I love history, but your level of love is probably up there with the love my late mother had for it. Your choices, and the picture, is perfect.

My late father was a history buff too. He passed his passion for learning and history to me.

I'm sure you'll love having fresh eggs in the not-too-distant future.

They are sweet too. They are such social animals if people interact with them, consistently.
