Love needs no laws to be itself in your life

Rabbi Ernest Shimroz, was a bit of a stickler for following the laws, of his people. He said that at no time should these laws not be followed. And in the Jewish religion, there was a lot of these laws to follow. Then one day, a passing peasant said to him: "Laws are laws, but love is love. You should gain the knowledge of when love trumps law." The Rabbi was shocked. Who was this upstart to try to correct his way of living? Nevertheless, he thought about what had been said. "God is love, and God is above law too. Maybe, he was right," he thought to himself. From then on in, the Rabbi let his heart overrule his mind, and he followed love, rather than law. Love has no rules, or laws, about it, and yet it will follow laws when required, but at other times, love needs to move aside from law, and blaze forth as itself, reaching past law into new facets of love within you, not reached before, as you have been held back by law to loving by the letter, rather than by the energy of that love in you, wanting to blaze forth as itself in you. Mahatma Gandhi, (1869 to 1948) said this, but he could have also said, "Life without love needs laws." Love needs no laws to be itself in your life.

Life without love would not be a happy life at all.

No, living by law alone, would not make for much happiness, and it is probably why when Jesus Christ came along he told us just to love God, with our whole person, and to love our neighbour as we love our self, as the first step, and to do this before we worry about dotting the "i's" on any laws.

Love is pure and simple to follow and has a universal language and impact. However, in our perverted thinking and action, we tend to be miserly with it and pay the price in terms of a loveless world. Laws can only beat around the bush of truth and higher consciousness. They cannot replace the vital ingredient of love. All-out love will obliterate the all-out war that our leaders are obsessed with.

Yes, most laws when being applied are loveless, and lifeless as well, being harsh/ruthless in their implementation. Only love can open one to truths, and not have truths tried to be battered into one as a law, which often misses the essential truth of the truth anyway.

@Shiva49 A lot of judges do try to change people's lives for the better, adding some words of wisdom in their judgements, whereas others, just throw the book at everyone, with a good riddance approach, instead.
