Day 13
Micah 7:1 Woe is me! For I am like those who gather summer fruits, like those who glean vintage grapes; there is no cluster to eat of the first-ripe fruit which my soul desires.
2 The faithful man perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net.
3 That they may successfully do evil with both hands—the prince asks for gifts, the judge seeks a bribe, and the great man utters his evil desire; so, they scheme together.
4 The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge; the day of your watchman and your punishment comes; now will be their perplexity.
5 Do not trust in a friend; do not put your confidence in a companion; guard the doors of your mouth against her who lies in your bosom.
6 For son dishonors father, daughter rises against her mother, daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his household.
7 Therefore, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD because I sinned against Him until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me forth to the light; I will see His righteousness.
10 Then she who is my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes will see her; now she will be trampled down like mud in the streets.
11 In the day when your walls are built, in that day the decree will go far and wide.
12 On that day they will come to you from Assyria and the fortified cities, from the fortress to the river, from sea to sea, and mountain to mountain.
13 Yet the land will be desolate because of those who dwell in it, and for the fruit of their deeds.
14 Shepherd Your people with Your staff, the flock of Your heritage, who dwell solitarily in a woodland, in the midst of Carmel; let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in days of old.
15 “As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt, I will show them wonders.”
16 The nations will see and be ashamed of all their might; they will put their hand over their mouth; their ears will be deaf.
17 They will lick the dust like a serpent; they will crawl from their holes like snakes of the earth. They will be afraid of the LORD our God and will fear because of You.
18 Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy.
19 He will again have compassion for us and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
20 You will give truth to Jacob and mercy to Abraham, which You swore to our fathers from days of old.
Do you wonder when your life will change from bad to good? Your life is one crisis after another with no end in sight. Even the members of your household stand against you. Yet you hold onto hope and tell yourself, your life won’t always be bad.
Micah told the people that though they saw evil everywhere, God would bring them out of their misery and their enemies would no longer rejoice over them. No matter how corrupt people and governments became, he would keep his eyes on God and see His mercy. God would bring His people out of bondage, and everyone would see how God took care of His people. He would be their shepherd and feed and care for them as He did when He led them out of Egypt. Then the nations would be afraid of God because there is no God like their God who pardons iniquity and passes over their transgressions. He would not remain angry but delight in mercy. God would have compassion on His heritage and cast their sins into the depth of the sea.
It doesn’t take much to see how corrupt the world has become. You see corruption everywhere—in government, your neighborhood, the workplace, even in your home. Yet for Christians, you have hope in God to take care of you, to keep His promises, and to forgive your sins when you come to Him with true repentance. You know He alone is God and there is no other.
As God takes care of His people and will always protect them, He will take care of you too because Jesus is your Savior and Lord. You belong to Him. You have nothing to fear. You can rejoice because Jesus is your salvation, strength, and hope. Don’t let Satan rejoice over you. Rejoice in your salvation. Satan can do nothing but crawl away from you on his belly when you stand on the promises God gave His people. He will flee when he sees you on your knees, studying His Word, and praising Him for all He brings you through. When Satan tries to bring you down, rise and declare that Jesus is Lord of your life and nothing he brings your way will prosper because the weapons of your warfare are mighty. They pull down strongholds and defeat every plan Satan brings against you.
2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (NKJV)
You have nothing to fear because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Rejoice. God’s got this!
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior. Thank you for giving me Your Word as a weapon against Satan to bring down every plan he devises against me. Help me stand on Your Word and declare You alone are God and there is no other. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Sometimes I get tired of turning the other cheek; but eventually what goes around comes around. Have a blessed day.

The passage sounds depressing on a first read.
The whole world seems to be plotting against God's servants, even those of his own household.
But with God, on each servant's side, they will always triumph over the ways of the World too.

@just4him Yes, I would agree, that God always ensures that the right outcome comes about in the end for his followers.
