Filipino Desserts From Our Neighbor

I have a sweet tooth. I enjoy everything sweet, such as cakes, chocolates, ice cream, and so on. So this Filipino dessert from our neighbor made me happy. She is our new neighbor. She lives a block away and only moved in last week. She spotted me as I was out walking my dogs the other day. She, too, enjoys dogs and cares for four toy poodles. We quickly became friends, and while having lunch this afternoon, she gave me these Filipino desserts: Puto (Filipino steamed rice cake) and Kutsinta (brown rice "cakes") with yema. Yema is the Spanish word for "egg yolk." What made you happy today?

It certainly looks tasty! It isn’t 8am yet, so I’m not sure what is going to make me happy today. My dog did make my heart happy with how cute she was when I got up, so maybe that qualifies.
