Oh wow I feel bad now

Anyone who knows me in real life or who reads my posts here regularly knows that I'm a HUGE fan of the STARZ show "Outlander". I've read all of the books and watched all of the shows. I love love love it. One of the interesting things about the TV adaptation is that the intro theme song during the opening credits changes each season. For example, the 2nd season is set mostly in France so the song is sung in French. When the main characters made their way to America the song took on a Revolutionary anthem type style. The 6th season's intro was sung by a man and changed the words "sing me a song of a lass that is gone" to "a LAD that is gone". It changes with each season depending on the storyline. I always update my Facebook status when I'm watching the newest episode of Outlander. Friends and coworkers who follow the show chime in with their thoughts. One thing that several of us have agreed on is that the intro song for this season is not good. The voice didn't sound familiar and in the back of my brain I thought that the singer might be a black woman. (not that I would care due to that fact) Nope. Irish singer Sinead O'Connor died today (probably by suicide) and I just saw in a news story about it that she was the singer for the season 7 opening song. To be fair the voice singing it sounds nothing like what I remember from "Nothing Compares 2 U". Never in a million years would I have guessed that she was the singer. I still don't like her rendition of the theme song but I do feel bad that I put that out there. Of course Sinead O'Connor couldn't see my Facebook account and discussions but I can only imagine that many others disliked it and put that out into the world. That couldn't have been helpful for a woman who had mental health struggles.

I used to watch outlander all the time but I have not seen the shows in years. I do not remember the song at all.

The link I posted is the one that Sinead O'Connor sang for the newest season. This one is from season 2 when they were in France.

Poor Sinead. She must have been a tortured soul.

Oh, I can understand why you felt bad, even if you did nothing wrong. I imagine a lot of people feel bad about those things today.
