Trump doesn't understand the Presidential Records Act

or he just lies about it like he lies about everything else. The Presidential Records Act was created after Nixon's presidency and basically said that all documents, notes, files, etc. created during a president's term had to be preserved and then turned over to the National Archives at the conclusion of a president's term. Like *everything* related to the job of being president had to be turned over to the Archives. Trump has an entirely different view on the Presidential Records Act. He likely was briefed on the importance of maintaining his papers and such but he didn't care. It was reported early on that he would tear up official papers and notes into little bits that his staff would have to tape back together. His defense with the Mar-a-Lago documents case is that he has "the absolute right" to take anything produced during his tenure under the Presidential Records Act. He is so ignorant that he doesn't know that the law says the exact opposite: everything has to be turned over to the Archives. Trump just got hit with 3 or 4 more charges yesterday due to his illegal retention of documents and obstruction of justice. 2 more people are now implicated. It really is incredible that even his like 5th string level of lawyers haven't been able to educate him about the Presidential Records Act.
