The saga of the coconut climber

We have coconut climbers to harvest coconuts and they are specialised in this work.
In the past they used to use a rope loop put their legs in it and climb the tree which was no doubt an effort. Nowadays they have a contraption that they just need to strap on to the tree, stand on it and push it up with their hands and that is how they climb.
We had this guy yesterday with this contraption and told us he will only harvest where the coconut trees are vertical without any bends as this contraption cannot handle that.
I politely told him that he will have to do the manual climbing for those trees that are bent.
So much for automation. Old is gold after all. What say?

Did the coconut climber agree to that? I'd think I wouldn't hire him if he wanted to only harvest from straight-trunked trees.

Yes he agreed and with a smile as if he did not he would only get paid for the ones he harvested (lol)

Old fashioned way to climb trees is better than using automation.

Manual climbing is hard work. I'm wondering if a robot can do the job.
