This weekend my husband was chatting to a friend on line and somehow the subject of breakfast came up and hubby had had some Cumberland sausage for his breakfast. His friend then revealed that he eats raw sausages! At first I was mystified and asked "does he mean veggie sausages or some form of cured meat like salami?" but now, he meant regular pork sausages! Don't try this at home folks! Do you or someone you know eat something uncooked that is usually cooked?

I am surprised he has not had food poisoning yet. Do uncooked sausages taste okay?

He seems to think they taste okay. I'm not willing to even try them.

Uncooked pork anything - nope - I would never eat that. You could get trichinosis - and I heard the pain in the head from it is unbearable.

It seems like he might be asking to get some parasites, doesn’t it. I can’t imagine wanting to eat raw sausages.

Parasites or just food poisoning - salmonella is very common in undercooked pork.

That doesn't sound very tasty to me. Sausage has a LOT of fat in it. I could see, maybe, eating raw lean meat. I used to eat steak that was barely kissed by the flame. It was delicious. But pork? No thanks!
