Does your city or town still get flooded in the rain?

Flooding seems to be a woroldwide problem and no matter how much the government prepares for it, it will come when it will. Many cities in africa are flooded constantly especially during the raining season despite the money spent in preventing it from year to year.

Some streets in my city flood if we get a lot of rain all at once. But the city doesn't flood. Our city is on a high point in our geographical area so the water subsides very quickly.

That's so lucky of you. Sometimes when it rains heavily I would avoid some streets due to flooding waters

@Laurakemunto We apparently got over 5 inches/127 mm of rain this past weekend. There is a culvert at the end of our back yard that was full of water the entire weekend.

You are really lucky to have your city located at such a point.

My city has a huge problem with flooding, and they have been trying to find a solution for it, for decades.

@ogbenishyna I doubt it. Don’t get me wrong, when it floods it isn’t Noah’s Ark, but it is always flooding some part of the city. This time they are trying to figure out a better drainage system, because the ones that work fine for other places aren’t working for us.

Preventing flooding would require municipal planning. Here, there was a flash flood ,but the water seems To go down fast.

hmm, so if the planning is sustainable the flood goes fast, I agree with you.

Last two years my city got too much of continuous rain and so many areas were flooded for few weeks. It was lot of inconvenience. Luckily, our area was not. But we still got issues with supplies of basic things for few days as flood affected the transport badly.

@ogbenishyna They are doing their bit ( though not as much they should,). But then at times, no preparedness is enough when it comes to excessive rain.

Some streets so when there's heavy down pour due to the terrain and sometimes the drainage
